Last Ultrasound Before we Meet!

Today is our final ultrasound and we get to see you breathing and smiling and even sticking out your tongue!

Now Daddy Knows Too

Mommy and Daddy go to the movies and watch a very intense and very loud movie. You are either excited at the sounds you hear or you are angry that we are disturbing your slumber because you kick up a storm in Mommy's belly like never before! Daddy gets to feel you kicking for the very first time!

Dancing to Daddy's Voice

It is bedtime, so Daddy reads to Mommy from the "Our Pregnancy: For the Father-to-Be" book he received for his birthday. As he reads aloud, Mommy feels tingles in her belly that continue while Daddy reads! Mommy can finally feel you moving around and evidently you love the sound of your Daddy's voice!

Today is our second ultrasound, you are 12 weeks and 5 days old in Mommy's belly. Today we get to find out whether you will be Mommy's little shopping partner or Daddy's competition on the soccer field. Grandpa Kostya's cousin Yana, who is graciously doing our ultrasounds for us, knows we are anxiously awaiting the news so she tells us, in great detail, about everything but your gender! Finally, Yana asks, "Alright, are you ready to know the gender? Are you sure? Are you ready? It's.......a BABY! Alright, alright, it's a GIRL!!!!" Right at this moment, Daddy pulls out something pink and fuzzy out of his pocket and hands it to Mommy. Looking down, Mommy can't help but laugh! It's a fuzzy, pink circle with a cartoon of a stork carrying a baby, and the announcement "It's a Girl!"

Your Little Heart Beats

Today is our very first ultrasound, you are 8 weeks and 3 days old in Mommy's belly. We meet you, our little peanut, for the first time. Your little heart beats so quickly, and we can already see arm and leg buds! You are our little miracle!

The Announcement!

Daddy has surprised Mommy with a trip to Paris and Rome for their first wedding anniversary (you will have the most comfortable seat for the journey, of course, snuggled up in Mommy's belly)! We get together for a going-away dinner with all of your grandparents and Aunt Lena and Uncle Gena and present them each with a copy of Mommy and Daddy's wedding video with a little hint of the wonderful news we have to share - a tiny yellow sock on a clothespin is hidden in each video. As your grandparents open their videos, they are confused by the tiny item inside. Finally, Uncle Gena catches on and exclaims, "Are you kidding me?!" When Mommy nods, Uncle explains to your curious grandparents, "Don't you get it?! They're pregnant!!"

The Big News!

Mommy decides to take a pregnancy test and it comes out POSITIVE!! Mommy is so overwhelmed with excitement that she can't help but jump up and down and squeal! Mommy sends Daddy a text message with a picture of the pregnancy test and the words, "i luv you, daddy!" We cannot believe the amazing news and rush out for another pregnancy test, this time Daddy says he wants to be the first to know for sure. It takes Daddy a while to emerge from the bathroom, and when he does, he grabs Riley (your puppy) and exclaims, "Riley, you're going to be a brother!"

This is the place where Mommy and Daddy first fell in love in 2005 and the place where you went from a dream to a reality in 2009! :)

The Baby Proposal

This evening, after dinner, your daddy-to-be dressed up in a suit, got down on one knee, and proposed to mommy for the second time in their relationship. This time it went something like this: "Will you please be the mother of my children?" Mommy had been dreaming of this moment for quite some time and was ecstatic to be able to dream of meeting you some day very soon!
