You're going to be moving around in no time! I put you on your side and you rolled on your back! I put you on your side and you rolled on your back! I put you on your side and you rolled on your tummy! I think the tummy one was an accident because as soon as you got there you wanted to be moved again!

Back to Sleep

You woke up early this morning. Instead of asking us to get you, you used your newly-discovered self-soothing technique of sucking one hand while using the other hand to pat your head and put yourself right back to sleep!

Comfort Part 2

A couple of days ago you discovered the awesomeness of your finger in your mouth - today you upped the ante! A finger is wonderful, but one hand in your mouth while the other hand pets your head is pure heaven! You also reached out for a toy during tummy time today for the first time!

Lauren

Mommy's friend Chrissy from her teaching program is visiting from Colorado and today we get to meet her baby Lauren! You and Lauren quickly learn that you love all the same things - playing on the floor, yellow duckies, jumperoos, and going for walks in your strollers! Lauren falls asleep on the walk but you are too excited to sleep, you know there'll be time for that later on the drive home!

Happy Swing

We can't figure out why, but the ceiling of your swing makes you very happy! You love to smile at it before  you drift off to sleep, and as soon as you wake you look at it and smile again!

Comfort

Today you discovered the key to comforting yourself that will last you at least another year - your left pointer finger! You love to have this finger in your mouth with your thumb tucked under, especially when you are hungry or tired. You also figured out how to use your muscles to propel yourself from you back to you left side!

Lots of Time on Tummy Time

Whenever I can convince you to do it, you hang out on your tummy and practice lifting your head and watching all the toys around you! When you start grunting, I flip you over to your back, but as soon as I can convince you to do it you're on your tummy again! We play like this throughout the day. Riley makes sure to always be somewhere nearby, he is your protector now.

Shots - yuck!

Today you received your first shots and you screamed out with the saddest cry Mommy has ever heard! It's Mommy to the rescue! You calmed down as soon as you settled in Mommy's arms and nursed :)

Happy 2 Months!

You are 2 months old today! We spend the day getting family portraits done, visiting Uncle Gena and his family, and then getting a visit from your Grandpa Kostya, Grandma Toma, and Aunt Lena! Everyone wanted to celebrate you!

Our First Mother's Day

It is Mommy's first Mother's Day! Daddy showers us with gifts and love! And you probably don't know it, but you wrote Mommy your first card today (you used Daddy's left hand since you don't quite have the hand-eye coordination yet)! Daddy also had a star named for us, "Scarlette Daych's Angel" - it hangs by your crib. And last, but not least, Daddy bought us a cradle swing for you - the first place you ever napped not on Mommy and the first place you ever fell asleep on your own!

Teardrops

Up until now, whenever you cried you would just make the wah-wah sounds, but your eyes remained dry. Today you sprouted your first tear drops which means from now on, your cries will break Mommy's heart even more.
