Up and Over

After all those weeks of rolling from your tummy to your back, you have finally figured out how to roll from you back to your tummy! You had a hard time figuring out to get your shoulder out of the way, and would usually end up back on your back, but today you overcame that obstacle!

A Visit from Jo and Red

Jo and Red came to visit you today! Remember when you were a few days old and Jo stayed with us when Daddy went back to work? Now you are 4 months old and you can smile to thank her for loving you!

MAMA!!

What is that sound on the monitor? Is that you saying Mama?? Oh my goodness, it is!!
Not only did you wake up calling for me, you spent the rest of the day repeating your first word - MAMA, MAMA, MAMA! I even managed to get it on film! My favorite milestone by far! =)

Music to Soothe

You had the worst teething pain ever today! Oh, it broke my heart to watch my sweet, happy baby be so miserable. We went to visit Grandma Dora and Grandpa Borya and you felt much better after Grandma played beautiful music for you on her violin!

Sitting Pretty

For the first time in your life you are doing more than lying down - you are in the baby steps of figuring out how to sit on your own! As long as you can lean your hands on the floor you are able to keep your balance without any help!

Grandma Love

We surprised Grandma Toma today by visiting her at work! When you saw her you were so excited that when she reached for you, you reached for her! This was the first time you ever reached out for anyone and it meant the world to Grandma that she was the first one!

For My Next Act

You have figured out how to cough on purpose! You put on a show for me today and we giggly-giggled together!

Kisses and Sneezes are Funny

Your laughter is my favorite sound in the whole world! Every day I discover new and surprising ways to bring about that wonderful sound - today it's kisses and sneezes! You give me your hand, I kiss it, and then I say "Thank you!" You crack up! We do this for a while because I can never get enough of those giggles!
Whenever you sneeze I always say "God bless you!" You think that's hilarious too!

Water Baby

You love your bathtime - it's your favorite part of the day! So today we are excited for you to explore being in a much bigger body of water - a pool! It is you cousin Matthew's birthday so we head over to Felik and Mira's house for your first swim! And....you love it!!

You had so much fun splashing and swimming and floating around! Afterwards you were ready for a nap!

Happy 4 Months!

You are 4 months old today, can you believe it? We got lots of your beautiful smiles captured at your photo shoot today! Every time Mommy would say "I love you!" you would flash that amazing smile of yours!

When we got home from the photo shoot (yay!) and more shots at the doctor's office (boo) you received your 4-month birthday present - a jumperoo! Your feet are a foot away from touching the ground so we have to pile up blankets and pillows and books but you LOVE it!

Such an exciting day for you! In the evening, we put you in your crib awake and put yourself to sleep for the first time!

Beach

Today was your very first time at the beach!

Riley Love

Today you pet Riley for the first time! I know this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

I let you go bare-bottomed for a bit today, and you felt so free! You rolled to the left, you rolled to the right, and even tried to roll over!

Dress me Again!

Since birth you have hated being dressed! As soon as the top went over your head and covered your eyes you would start to cry! My poor baby! I came up with a game to help ease your fear of having your eyes covered by clothing - as I would bring the top over your head I would count 1...2...3...and when your little head popped through I would say "Peek-a-boo!" Right away this distracted you enough to keep you from crying, but now getting dressed is your favorite thing to do! When I undress you, as soon as your arms pop through the sleeves, you start laughing because you know your head is next! When I dress you as soon as the shirt touches your head your mouth opens wide with a huge grin before I even start counting! And after the peek-a-boo, you laugh with a wonderful delight!!

So Intellectual

What's the only thing that can make bath time even better? Reading a book in the bath of course!

Mommy's Little Yogi

Remember that pre-natal yoga class we used to take with Robin as our teacher? Today, we were the guests of the class! You spent your time peacefully and happily rotating on your back while I held yoga poses. You even taught the class with Robin for a bit! After all that serenity you went right to sleepy land as soon as you were buckled snuggly into your carseat!

4th of July Anniversary 2010

Today is the Fourth of July and it is also Mommy and Daddy's 2nd wedding anniversary! We celebrate by having all of your grandparents over, dressing you up like an American flag, and watching the wedding video. You are all smiles all day!

Ready to Walk at 15 Weeks

You are only 15 weeks old and you are already eager to figure out how this whole walking thing works! Whenever you are in someone's lap you only want to stand, you think sitting is for little babies! And today while you were practicing standing with me holding you up, you started moving your legs in a walking motion - left, right, left, right!
