Tummy Sleep

Last night, during your sleep you happened to flip yourself over onto your tummy. You have never slept on your tummy before and usually want to be flipped back over, but you slept on your tummy right through to the morning!
I guess you liked the new sleeping position you discovered last night because today you napped on your tummy too! You curled up, with your knees tucked under you, and slept so peacefully!

Busy Day

You have discovered the key to getting what you want - words! You first word for this purpose is "mum", and it means "I'm hungry! Feed me! Give me something yummy!" You use this every time you want to eat, and it makes giving you exactly what you want so much easier!
You are more in love with Riley than ever before! You smile at him when he gives you attention and you thought it was so funny when he play growled!

You can hold your own bottle now!!

Every time I put you on your back today, your rolled right over to your tummy! For the first time, you are moving around on purpose!
And you are now an avid reader! As soon as I put a book in front of you, you can't wait to turn every page!

Crib Napper

What an accomplishment!! You took all your naps in your crib today! I am so proud of you!

Swimming Buddy Everett

You went swimming with your new friend Everett today - it was his very first time in a pool and you got to share that with him! You were so excited to be in the water and Everett quickly figured out how fun it is too!

Pasha's 5-Month Cake

Pasha (Uncle Cherepasha) came over today to celebrate your turning 5 months! He brought you a delicious cake and lots of kisses!

He also showed you your first taste of technology, and you've been hooked ever since!

Finding Scarlette

Where's Scarlette? Where's Scarlette? Where is that sweet baby of mine? Oh! There you are!
This brings guaranteed smiles and giggles every time! =)

You are also starting to figure out what certain words mean. When I count to 3, you try to sit up on your own before I help you! When I say "bib", you take your finger out of your mouth and lean forward so I can put your bib on! Wow!

Happy 5 Months!

You are five months old today, and we are off to our photo shoot! Unlike the last one, where you were all smiles, we couldn't get a single smile out of you today, but you did sit on your own the entire time! You're probably working on some teeth and don't feel very smiley. Nevertheless, you are our adorable 5-month-old!

Once we got home, you were all smiles again! And I got the cutest pictures of you sitting and smiling!

Grown-Up Toys

You have decided that grown-ups have the coolest toys - keys, phones, and especially the remote!

A Girl's Best Friend

I left the room for 5 seconds to get a cottonball wet to wash your face and when I came back Riley was kissing your nose all up! You were having the time of your life!

Later we went for a walk and Daddy carried you in your baby carrier for the first time! You are forward-facing now - what a big girl!

Crib Nap

You have been napping in your swing ever since Daddy got it for us on Mother's Day. We have been slowly transitioning you out of the swing and into your crib for naptime - turning the swinging lower and lower and finally off altogether. Today, I put you down for your nap in your crib for the first time. It took you 10 minutes and you were asleep all on your own! (You only slept for 5 minutes, but who's counting?) This is a huge step for you!

Page Turner

I have read to you from the moment you were born and now books are your favorite toys! You love turning pages when I read, and you love to turn the pages on the book in your jumperoo (but only when no one's watching)! Everytime I look away you have turned all three pages in the jumperoo! You wait for me to turn them back and as soon as I look away again, they have all been read again!

So Smart

When I change you by the mirror I play a game with you - I look away and when I look back I say Peek-a-Boo! Then I look away again. I look into the mirror to watch your anticipation before I look back at you to say Peek-a-Boo again! Well you have this game all figured out! When I look away, you find me in the mirror, and when I look back at you, you find me in real life!

Distracted into Sitting

You favorite butterfly toy is so fun to play with that you grabbed it in your hands and didn't even notice you were sitting without leaning on anything! Now sitting is your new favorite thing to do!

Daych Pool

We visited your uncle and cousins today to celebrate Sarah's birthday! You didn't get a nap on the drive like we hoped, so you were a bit cranky when we arrived.

Not to worry, as soon as you got into the pool you were your happy and relaxed self again!
